As always, the four horsemen unveiled their thoughts in true apocalyptic style at their TRAPLIVE event last night, I already knew I wouldn’t be disappointed; these guys know their stuff.
Hosted at the Royal College of Physicians, a spectacular venue overlooking Regent's Park, we heard from all four, plus their guest speaker, Samantha Russell.
After following the TRAP team on their podcast for the last two years and having missed their live event last year, I finally made it. The impressive Samantha kicked off the event, she tackled an important topic with humour. We also learnt from her how to use Chat GPT to “roast” our website and LinkedIn profile content to improve content.
Then came Four Men of the Apocalypse, Alan Smith, Andy Hart - Financial Adviser, Carl Widger and Nick Lincoln, whoever brought these 4 together deserves the Oscar! They laughed, argued and almost cried at times and so did we, the audience, as they unpacked a show filled with absolutely nothing! (a little Trappist joke) An absolute shambles!
It was noticeable how many younger attendees there were, I was probably double some of their ages, they could not have failed to have been inspired by those wise old heads (Samantha not included in the ‘old’ reference) who were candid about their own career paths, never running smooth, but as we know they all got there in the end.
The headlines were powerful:
Put your clients first, front and centre.
Invest in what you recommend to your clients yourself.
And stick to the plan.
It was great to reconnect with my fellow ValidPath members Tom Hyslop and Andy Reynolds, both down from Scotland for the event.
I think we all agreed, “what a great profession we have the privilege to be involved in”.
I am so pleased I made the event this year
I am and will remain an avid follower of the TRAP guys and the positive messages they promote.
