Don't miss out, April 25 deadline fast approaching
Posted on 5th March 2025 at 10:51
This is a final call out to everyone to log onto the government website and check if you have made enough contributions to get your full UK pension.
This especially applies to women who may have taken a career break to raise a family and are not even aware they won't be entitled to a full UK state pension. Its so simple to do, you just need to click this link and then sign into your Gateway account, you will receive an authentication code and then you're in. I have shared an example of a friend of mine below. She will be 67 on the 17th March 2029 and as you can see she is going to get the maximum pension available. This is someone who worked right the way through and had childcare in place, so has made the maximum contributions.
If you find you have a shortfall in some years, you need to ACT NOW. The deadline was extended last year to April 5th 2025, but once you miss this deadline, the current 16 year window closes and you can only look back 6 years.
There are apparently over 200,000 people who have not yet added to their National Insurance contributions and this accounts for an approximate £1.3billion in back payments that are outstanding.
If you know someone who hasn’t yet logged on to check their account, share this login with them now! Remember, once the deadline of 5 April 2025 passes, you can only go back 6 years.
