Announcing the launch of Advice2U
Posted on 4th September 2024 at 09:03
Today I am excited to announce the launch of Advice2U, my own independent financial planning firm.
Although my website www.advice2u.co.uk has been up and running since 2022, I am now trading as an IFA under this brand name.
I have spent the last 12 years with a great IFA firm in the City with whose partners I have even longer business and personal relationships with. However, over the last year or so, I finally decided it was time for the next chapter in my long career and set up my own business.
Financial services is a highly regulated industry and the process has taken about 9 months to complete and although the new business went live at the beginning of August, I wanted to ensure all of my clients had been informed before I made any public announcements.
The last month since my summer break has been intense. I’ve been focused on communicating with my clients on the process of transferring agency to my new business to ensure continuity of service.
I am now working within a community network of Independent Financial Advisers Validpath. They are a Top 100 IFA firm who have over 200 independent adviser firms under their umbrella. This is a technology-driven business using its propriety systems that will help to deliver best-in-class services to my existing and new clients.
As an IFA, I have always enjoyed the customer-facing elements of my role. I have developed long-term relationships with my clients, which for many of them have seen them well into retirement. This new collaboration will enable me to focus more on building those relationships and the technology used will drive most of the regulatory data collection through a digitised system.
My thanks to Mark Arthurs, Richard Phillips and others who have supported me over the last few months during the onboarding process. I am now looking forward to meeting others within Validpath and the wider IFA network base over the coming months and years.
This is an exciting time to launch Advice2U with many potential changes coming in the next budget that will undoubtedly affect pensions, among other investments. Seeking out qualified, sound financial advice is going to be so important to many who will be worried about these impending changes which our new Prime Minister has done little to dispel with his recent statements.
As ever, it’s a case of fail to plan, plan to fail.
